Sad news everyone… Gwen Stefani and the boys of No Doubt have announced on their official website that they’re pushing back the release of their much anticipated new album until next year!
“Ideally our new record would be coming out this year but it’s just not ready yet. We don’t want to rush this album just to get it out,” reads the post. “This collection of songs means everything to us and our only priority right now is to make sure that it’s the best album we can possibly make. There is still more work for us to do”
It’s been 10 years since the group released their last album Rock Steady so fans of the group (such as myself) are getting antsy for their return. They started recording the new album with the likes of Major Lazor earlier this year and announced that they already had “10 new songs written.” They also previewed some of the new material to both Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly back in July, and announced that they were 2 months away from completing the album so this setback kind of comes out of nowhere. I guess great music… At least that’s the story I’m going with.
